Our Poodles

Four black minatures from the B star poodle kennel in the USAAll our dogs are raised as part of the family in the house and are fed on as natural a diet as possible. They live together as one large family group so that they learn how to interact with other dogs. It is important for us that the dogs are mentally as well as physically stimulated so they each get regular training sessions and are all taken out to different locations. Although our first love is seeing Poodles at work, our dogs have received many admirers from the confirmation community for their excellent beauty, structure and movement. Ultimately though we like to see our own dogs and those that we breed happy no matter whether they are competing in a sport or just in a loving pet home.

Performance Poodles

If you compete in any of the training disciplines with your dogs you will appreciate that it is an advantage to have a dog with energy, drive and enthusiasm for its work. Our dogs have these attributes in bucketfuls plus much more. We have handpicked dogs in our breeding program to not only improve the working ability of our Poodles but also give them personality plus. We also try and raise the puppies so that they are used to being hand fed and know the sound of the clicker which can help greatly with their training. Obviously the breeding of the dog is only half of what makes a top working Poodle so we also provide life long advice on how to approach their training.

Although we have done obedience, agility and rally with our Poodles the main focus of their work is in the sport of Musical Freestyle, Heelwork to Music or Dancing with Dogs. We have found that this training discipline really suits our Poodles character, greatly strengthening the bond between the dogs and us. It also exploits the Poodles great intelligence, willingness to work with "their human" and ability to show off. The beauty of freestyle is that there are no exercises that are compulsory so we can draw on each dogs individual strengths. If you would like to know more about the sport then go to the Freestyle page on this website.

Breeding

We started with our dedication to the Poodle back in our homeland of Switzerland where we bought our first Poodle Leeloo a white Standard in 1999. Since then we have moved our Poodles and two older Coton du Tulears to the USA where our Poodle family has multiplied to combine all sizes and a variety of colours. Brigitte a canine freestyle trainer from Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Our dogs are a combination of USA and European lines, so our proven stud dogs have been of interest to breeders who can see the advantage of including new bloodlines in their breeding programmes.  We don't breed that often but when we do our policy is to try and match the right puppy to the right owner that will suit them. We prefer not to ship puppies and insist the prospective owner comes to collect the puppy in person.  Sometimes we prefer to run on some of the puppies to see how they will develop, so occasionally we have young / older dogs who are available to loving homes. When we do let our pups go we provide lifelong advice and love to receive regular updates on their exploits. If for any reason the dog cannot be kept then we will take the dog back at anytime.

We occasionally allow our Toy and Miniature stud team to be used by other breeders as they carry such good lines. If you could like to discuss the possibility of using one of our boys please contact us on the email below.

If you would be interested in a B Star Miniature or Toy poodle then feel free to email Brigitte@bstarpoodles.com us to enquire on our next breeding plans or young/older dogs that are available.
